Supplies- Must Haves!

Hand lettering supply list (As an Amazon Affiliate I may receive earnings from qualifying purchases.  This post contains affiliate links at no cost to you for items I use daily and love )

Many of you are wondering what supplies are need to participate in the lettering challenge.  The world of handlettering supplies is as broad as the oceans are, it’s hard to tame the desire to have it all...right now!

‘The focus of this challenge is to learn the basics (the bones) of lettering and to have some uplifting fun...please do not stress over purchasing multiple craft supplies.

For this monthly challenge, at bare minimum, you will need a pencil and a duel tip brush marker in the color(s) of your choice.   Tombow brand brush markers are the most well known but an off brand brush pen with duel tip will work just as well for practice.  Craft stores , Walmart, and even the dollar tree have brush pens at most of their stores.  Paper and access to a printer so that you can access the digital worksheets is also recommended. If you do not have access to a working home printer, your local library or even a print service such as Staples can be hand.

Now, if you want to really experiment and push your creativity there are a few more items you may want to add to your supply collection.  You may already have some of these things, but please do not feel that you must purchase these things.

Below are a few items I use and recommend!

watercolor paint & paper

tracing paper

painters tape or washi tape

extra fine permanent marker in black

small tipped brush pens such as the Fudensuke pens from makers such as Tombow

acrylic paints and thin liner brushes

a ruler, protractor and or laser level

Metallic inks or watercolor pots
